PML designed this cover as heavy duty, bolt on replacement for the front differential cover on 2014 and newer Ram 2500 and 2013 and newer Ram 3500 trucks. Ram re–introduced Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) starting with 2013/2014 model trucks to improve gas mileage.

PML designed this 12 bolt cover for the AAM 9.25 front differential on:

• 2014 and newer Ram 2500 trucks, including Power Wagon
• 2013 and newer RAM 3500 trucks

Configurations vary so always check your truck to make sure you have clearance for any larger aftermarket cover. Trucks with the factory air ride suspension may have less clearance.

Ram changed to this 12 bolt American Axle 9 1/4 inch 235mm front to improve the durability, steering and control, according to FourWheeler.com. These new front axles have central axle disconnect.

We have heard that there is a Safety Recall Notice from the NHTSA for the front suspension on Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. After any modification, the installer or mechanic must verify clearance.

What Ships With the Cover?

PML ships new mounting bolts, fill hole plug and a magnetic drain plug with each cover.

Rear Differential Cover

PML makes a corresponding rear end cover for these Ram trucks. See:

Gasket

Customers have told us that Mopar Part Number 68216204AA is the gasket for this differential. If your truck has a difference gasket part number, please double check part number

To use the reusable factory gasket with this cover, make sure the gasket is clean and free of any nicks. If there is a nick in the gasket, that is where you'll get a leak.

This PML differential cover works well with RTV gasket material. RTV is a type of silicon rubber and it comes in a tube. There are several brands, such as Permatex, and these are readily available at automotive stores.

Optional Temperature Sending Unit Machining

This part has an undrilled boss for an aftermarket temperature sensor.

Optionally, PML can drill and tap for a temperature sending unit at the 8 o clock position on the passenger side of the cover. This would be a 1/8 NPT hole and would include a plug.
