This PML differential cover is designed for rear Ford 8.8 inch ring gear applications with the 10 bolt stock cover.

PML makes two covers for the Ford 8.8 inch ring gear differential. PML Part Number 9519 has a pattern fin design and more clearance for pan hard and sway bars, gas tanks, spare tires and similar.

This rear end differential cover fits many Ford trucks and SUVs. Vehicle configurations vary so check yours carefully. Some possible applications are:

• Bronco, within in line 6 cylinder 302, 351 engines, 1987 to 1996
• Crown Vics, 1982 to 2005
• Expedition, 1997 to 2001 (watch clearance)
• Explorer, 1991 to 2001
• F–150, 1980 to 2014
• E–150, 1992 to 2014
• Lighting, 1993 to 1995
• Marauder, 2003 to 2004
• Mountaineer, 1997 and newer
• Mustang, 1987-1995 (1996 to 2011 appear to have the same differential)
• Navigator

Always check to verify differential and available space. Configurations vary.

Some models may have the smaller Ford 7.5 differential or the larger For 9.75 differential. Check the dimensions, number of bolts, and shape of the stock cover.

Some models do not have clearance for a larger differential cover. Always check if you have clearance before ordering.

PML makes two designs. This cover has a large, round shape and straight fins. The other PML Ford 8.8 cover has more clearance and patterned fins.

This Ford differential cover is designed for non-IRS, rear differential on Ford vehicles. Some 4WD F–150 trucks have the 8.8 ring gear differential in the front but enough room for a larger than stock differential cover. For vehicles with IRS, the linkage bolts on to the cover and PML differential covers are not compatible.

Note to Expedition owners: a larger cover may be too deep to clear the track bar that runs behind the differential cover. Using the dimensions, please check your vehicle for clearance before purchasing.

Drain, Fill, Level Check and Optional Temperature Sensor Machining

This PML cover includes a drain on the bottom of the cover and fill holes on the side and the top.

Some Ford differentials have a factory fill location on the driveshaft side of the third member. Newer vehicles do not and can use the fill hole on the differential cover.

For a temperature sending unit, PML can machine the boss under the level check. This location is at about 4 o'clock. This is optional and there is a machining charge.
