PML designed this deep pan for the 2003 to 2008 Ford heavy duty trucks and SUVs with the Ford TorqShift 5R110, 5R110W transmission.

This PML transmission pan fits the Ford 5R110, 5R110W TorqShift automatic transmission from 2003 to around 2008. 2008 is a transition year when Ford updated the 5R110 and moved a filter inside the transmission pan.

PML designed this deep pan to help the TorqShift 5R110 transmission better handle the high stresses of towing and hauling. It fits the 5R110 automatic transmission used in many models of Ford trucks, SUVs, and vans. Here are some examples of vehicles that may be able to use this pan:

• 2003 to 2007, some 2008, F250, F350, F450, F550, E340, E450 with 6.0 Power Stroke Diesel
• 2005 to 2007, some 2008, F250, F350, F450, F550, E340, E450 with 6.8 V10
• 2004 to 2005 Excursion with 6.0 Power Stroke Diesel
• Some motorhomes based on these platforms

Vehicle configurations vary so always check to verify transmission and space available for a larger pan.

Check your stock pan before ordering. This pan replaces the stock pan that accommodates the additional internal filter. Ford updated the transmission and transmission pan in 2008. 2008 is a transition year. The 2008 and newer models have a larger transmission pan and an additional filter is located inside the pan. The middle of the pan is about 4 1/2 inches wide. On the 2003 to 2007 stock pan, the middle is about 3 inches wide.

This pan, PML part number 9973, can replace this stock pan.

• Middle of the pan is about 3 inches wide
• External spin-on transmission oil filter is located near the bell housing

Internal Filter Stock Pan (2008 to 2010)
PML part number 11049 can replace this stock pan.

• Ford logo is in the middle
• Middle is about 4 1/2 inches wide
• Larger to accommodate additional filter inside the pan

5.4L Engine Vehicles (F250 and Excusion): Some models of the Excursion and the F250 with the 5.4L gas engine have clearance issues and cannot accommodate a deeper pan. A larger aftermarket pan may or may not work on your vehicle.

Using the dimensions, check your vehicle before ordering. Look for clearance problems especially with frame cross members and the exhaust.

Stock pan and exhaust routing on a 2005 F250 5.4L gas engine truck. The exhaust is routed too close to the transmission pan to allow for the larger PML pan.

About Filters

PML designed this pan to work with the stock filter.

The pan has cast-in filter supports inside the pan. The fluid level is at the same place with the PML pan as with the stock pan. The pick up for the transmission fluid is at the point with the PML pan as with the stock pan. A filter extension is not needed.

About Gaskets

PML recommends a flexible cork or cork composite gasket for this pan.

This cork gasket is a replacement for Ford OEM part number E9TZ-7A191-A. We ordered it from GlobalTransmissionParts.com and their part number is 3072A. This gasket will work with E4OD, 4R100 and 5R110 transmissions.

We do not recomment hard, reusable gaskets for our pans.

Optional Machining for Temperature Sending Unit

This pan has two locations that can be machined for a temperature sending unit, one on the driver/left side and one on the passenger/right side.

The standard size is 1/8 NPT.
