This PML differential cover fits the American Axle Manufacturing (AAM) rear axle with 11.5 inch (292mm) or 11.8 inch (300mm) ring gear found on Ram heavy duty trucks.

PML designed this cover for 2003 to 2018 Ram diesel trucks with the AAM 11.5 or 11.8 inch ring gear rear differential. Trucks which may be able to use this cover include:

• Ram 2500, 2003 to 2013
• Ram 3500, 2003 to 2018 (maybe some 2019 and newer?)
• Some GM/Chevy Heavy Duty trucks

Always check your vehicle to verify differential and clearance. Configurations vary. See notes below.

2019 and newer trucks: The cover for most 2019 and newer trucks is similar but NOT interchangeable. See PML Part Number 11176. Check OEM cover shape and Mopar gasket part number.

Ram 2500, 2003 to 2013: Most gas engine trucks and a some diesel engine trucks have an AAM 10.5 differential, which is PML Part Number 10302. Compare the shape of the OEM covers to determine which your truck has.

Trucks With Brackets, Sway Bars, and Pan Hard Bars (2014 to 2018 Ram 2500): For trucks with brackets holding the brake line, sway bars or pan hard bars, see PML Part Number 11147. This is most all 2014 to 2018 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with optional air bag leveling.

Silverado or Sierra 2500HD 8.1 or diesel, 3500 or 3500HD with this AAM 11.5 rear: If you choose to use this cover, part number 10361, you have to bend the brake bracket located at the top of the cover. PML part number 9511 fits the same differential and accommodates the brake bracket.

There are several gear ratios for this differential, such as 3.42 and 3.73. The ratio does not change the ring gear size, 11.5 or 11.8 inches.

Drain, Oil Fill, Level Check and Hardware

This differential cover has oil fill, level check, and drain holes to make it easy to follow the 15K oil change interval that Dodge specifies for the AAM axles used in 2003 and newer Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks.

The drain is on the bottom of the cover. A magnetic drain plug is included. The fill hole is near the top at the 1 o clock position. Level check hole is on the side at the 3 o clock position. The level check hole is at the same relative location as the OEM cover level check hole. This means that you check the fluid level the same way with the OEM cover as with the PML cover.

PML includes plugs, mounting bolts and a magnetic drain plug with each cover.

Optional Machining for Temperature Sending Unit

For people who have an aftermarket gage monitoring the differential fluid temperature, this cover has a location that can be machined for the sending unit. The area about the 4 o clock position can be drilled and tapped for a 1/8 NPT hole for the sending unit. Optionally, PML can machine the hole and there is a custom machining charge. Verify the thread specification of your aftermarket temperature gage.

Front Cover for 4WD Trucks
